For more than two decades, the
Oregon Inservice Bulletin has been the heart of Teacher Inservice
Day each October. This year, the Oregon Teacher Inservice Bulletin is being
produced by Youth Change Professional Development Workshops in cooperation
with its longtime publisher,
Oregon International Council (www.oregonoic.org).
Oregon Inservice Day this year is October 14, 2011. Youth Change, with support from OIC, is
going to gather statewide professional development listings and post them so that Oregon educators
will be able to see the many courses that exist to make Inservice Day one of the most important days of the school year.

What You Get
As much as possible, we are going to maintain the way the bulletin has historically worked. We will mail a copy to
Oregon schools and school district education and professional development leaders. We will also
mail to parochial and private schools in Oregon. We will maintain the customary format of the bulletin, as
well as the same fees.

More Information
Youth Change, with the aid of longtime Teacher Inservice Bulletin publisher, the Oregon International
Council, is publishing the bulletin this year.
Youth Change provides training throughout North America, but is Oregon-based, and more than
two decades old. We have been listed
on the bulletin since around 1990 or so,
and found that the document reliably delivered registrations, even in rough economic years. We plan
to simply duplicate everything we can about how the statewide bulletin has worked,
and will mail print copies to Oregon schools and school districts
in early September, as has been the custom.
We'll also post the bulletin here on our site. That link will have the latest updates. Even better,
the Office of the Supt. of Public Instruction at the Oregon Department of Education
will continue to host the bulletin on their website. When we talked to the Department of Ed in July, they
even commented how they're always swamped with calls from teachers statewide
about getting a copy of the bulletin each year. That's why your teacher professional development
class has to be listed in the only official professional development course schedule for
statewide Oregon Teacher Inservice Day.

Additional Information
A paper copy of the inservice bulletin will be mailed statewide by Youth Change to Oregon schools and school districts.
Youth Change is providing this service with the guidance of the Oregon International Council,
the longtime publisher of the bulletin.
Youth Change Workshops provides training throughout North America, but is Oregon-based, and is more than
two decades old. We have been listed
on the bulletin since around 1990. Youth Change and OIC hope to ensure the future
of the bulletin, the most important player in each annual Oregon Teacher Inservice Day.
No taxpayer money is used to produce the bulletin. Costs are defrayed by inservice providers who pay to list their
courses. Any production deficit in 2011 will be covered by Youth Change Workshops as a community service.
The Oregon Inservice Bulletin has been an essential education tool that
has linked Oregon educators statewide with professional development each October for nearly a quarter of a century. At a time when
teachers are being asked to do more than ever, having up-to-date skills and information is more important than
ever.
That is why Youth Change and OIC are working together to preserve a necessary, treasured
part of Oregon's educational system that has worked well for decades.
