Poster #640

Poster #640 is a special kind of "Welcome to School" poster because it is especially aimed at students who may not feel welcome at all. Especially during periods when anti-immigrant sentiment runs high, racial tension has peaked, or religious intolerance is obvious, students may be hesitant to come to school. That's why the education experts at Youth Change Professional Development Workshops created Poster #640 to welcome students who may feel that they are not really wanted or welcome at your school.

Poster #640 is one of a group of three Welcome to School posters especially focused on diverse and immigrant students. There are three companion posters in this series; click on a link to view each poster: Poster #637, Poster #638 and Poster #640. The poster experts at Youth Change Workshops believe that you will maximize your message of welcome to diverse students when you post all three posters at your school and in your classrooms. The posters are designed to be a great fit for any K-12 school or classroom.

Poster #640 says: Do you look like us? You are welcome at this school. The poster features faces that your diverse students may easily relate to, further encouraging them to feel at home in your school, classrooms and hallways. During times of heightened racial tensions and increased animosity towards some religions, welcoming diverse students to school is critical. Otherwise, school can quickly start to feel unwelcoming and unsafe. All your students needs and deserve an education. Don't let diverse, immigrant and ELL students be left out because of their fear and worry about whether your school is welcoming and safe. Shout out your welcome by posting Poster #640 in your halls, classrooms and lobby where everyone will notice.
