This series was developed with and for troubled teens and children. It was especially created to turnaround violent, withdrawn, challenged, unmotivated, absent, learning disabled, and out-of-control youth and children through Grade 12.

This lesson series was developed to give teachers, special educators, court workers, social workers, counselors, psychologists, foster parents, and youth professionals all the techniques needed to teach youth how to succeed in school emotionally and socially.

classroom skills

The Personal Power behavior management lesson plan series is composed of four books, each containing 10 lesson plans that require minimal preparation.

Each lesson plan includes truly unique techniques that assist students into making changes they might normally fight or avoid.

Lesson plans include printable worksheets, many with lively cartoons, enjoyable contests, interesting games, fill-in-the-blanks, stories, experiential role-plays, and other innovative techniques and devices that are so creative and innovative, that you can't find them anywhere else.

The series' four volumes focus on three areas of success: school, with self, and with others.

students with emotional problemsThe lessons in Developing Appropriate Classroom Skills help students to gain the motivation, attitudes, beliefs, and in-school behaviors they need to successfully interact with teachers and other school staff. They also learn about how to participate in class discussions, follow rules, complete homework, and focus appropriately.

The lesson plans in Becoming an Effective Student help unmotivated youth to discover the importance of school. Skills covered include how to manage and complete homework, control frustration, and complete class assignments.

The Gaining Self Control volume provides techniques that help even impulsive, ADHD-affected, defiant, agitated, challenged, disinterested, troubled students build better self-management.

peer interaction skills lesson plansThe lessons included in the Peer Interaction Skills volume help children and adolescents learn and use the social skills they need to function. The lesson plans in this volume systematically teach students step-by-step how to start and maintain conversations with peers, stop conflict and bullying, and how to avoid being bullied or negatively influenced by problem peers. The volume also addresses appearance and hygiene, and how to interact with peers of diverse cultural backgrounds.

The complete Personal Power Combination Kit includes these four volumes: Gaining Self Control; Peer Interaction Skills; Developing Appropriate Classroom Skills; and Becoming an Effective Student. Books have a lie-flat binding, and reproducible printable student worksheets are included with many lesson plans.
